Project and Contents Description
This project involves digitization of the Congressional Record (daily edition) from the 101st Congress, volume 135 (1989) through the 103rd Congress, volume 140 (1994). Subsequent volumes are already available on GPO Access. The Congressional Record Index is available on GPO Access from 1983-present, but only in text files. The Index from 1989-present will also be digitized in this project. The Congressional Record is the official record of the proceedings and debates of the United States Congress. It is published daily when Congress is in session. At the back of each daily issue is the "Daily Digest," which summarizes the day's floor and committee activities. The Congressional Record Index is an index of the daily issues of the Congressional Record and contains both the index and the History of Bills and Resolutions.
