Early Recognized Treaties with American Indian Nations
Descriptive Information
Project and Contents Description
The Oklahoma State University has digitized all of Charles J. Kappler's Indian Affairs: Laws and Treaties, providing access to the final texts of 366 of the 375 treaties, created by the American Indian tribes and the United States government, that are recognized by the Department of State. In this new additional electronic collection, the texts of the nine remaining treaties, created between the years 1722 and 1805, are presented. These are the product of seven, early treaty events between a number of American Indian Nations and the British, and of two United States efforts.
