Project and Contents Description
The collection provides full text access to over 5,000 coastal management related documents covering the period 1972 through 2002 that were submitted by various coastal states to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The print copies of these and other Coastal Zone Information Center documents are located at the NOAA Central Library in Silver Spring, MD. These documents are crucial to the understanding of U.S. coastal management and NOAA's mission to sustain healthy coasts. The documents were originally submitted to the NOAA Office of Ocean and Coastal Resource Management (OCRM) by state coastal zone management programs in accordance with the Coastal Zone Management Act (CZMA) of 1972.
